Cass County Center

The Cass County Center has been a part of the Iowa Western community since 1966. The center moved to the current location at 705 Walnut in 2005 and serves Atlantic and the surrounding communities with a wide variety of programming. Credit, Continuing Education classes, business and industry, GED, and ELL (English Language Learner) classes offer a variety of education to all types of learners. Tutoring programs are also available.

The Cass County Center offers a spacious facility available for training, workshops, and meetings of all kinds. Our nine classrooms include a computer center with 12 computers, plus other classrooms seating 25-50 people. We also have a conference room seating 6-8 people for small groups.

All Classrooms are fully equipped with audio-visual equipment to enhance your meeting or learning experience.

The Cass County Center is the exclusive home to the Design Technology Program at Iowa Western.


Admissions and Students

Our goal is to serve the student with one-on-one attention. With just one stop at the Cass County Center you can receive assistance with the college application, advising, Financial Aid and registration. We truly are a ‘One Stop Shop’! Just drop by during business hours or call to make an appointment – it’s that easy!

Financial Aid

Current students need to remember to renew Financial Aid every year. Simply go to www.fafsa.ed.gov, click the “Fill Out A Renewal FAFSA” link, and follow the directions. If you have questions contact the Financial Aid office at (712) 325-3295 Or 1-800-432-5852 ext. 3295

Registration

Current student have the option to register for classes online.

Graduation

All students must apply for graduation during the final term of their program of study even if they do not plan to participate in the graduation ceremony. Students should apply for graduation during their final semester in ROC. The application will be available approximately two weeks after the start of each term. Check the Academic Calendar for graduation dates and the last day to apply for graduation each term. Information regarding the status of the student’s graduation application and information about the commencement will be sent to the student’s Iowa Western email address. There is no charge for participating in the graduation ceremony and all students are encouraged to attend.


Continuing Education

Continuing Education at the Cass County offers community members the opportunity to gain knowledge in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. For example, students can take classes in fitness and gardening for recreation; personal finance and computers for personal development; and insurance, real-estate, and CPR for license recertification. 

English Language Learners (ELL)

The Cass County Campus offers special tutoring sessions for those individuals interested in learning the English language. These free classes, taught in English, are available for anyone of any nationality. For more information contact the Cass County Campus at (712) 243-5527.

HiSet (High School Equivalency) 

The Cass County Campus offers HiSet instruction and testing to qualified individuals. A qualified instructor assesses each individual student to determine strengths and a starting level which results in an individualized instruction plan focused on the student’s needs. Iowa Western Community College offers HiSet testing in several Southwest Iowa locations.

HiSet class schedule:

Monday and Wednesday evenings 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

HiSet Testing Schedule:  Arranged
