An online course has the benefit of a student being able to start a course at their convenience when they register and offers the capability to train at home. The courses do involve a significant amount of time and monetary commitment. Prepares the student for an outpatient coding position to translate a patient’s medical record into nationally standardized numeric codes used in billing patients & third-party payers such as insurance companies and Medicare. This prepares the student to take the certification exam. See flyer

Prepares the student for an inpatient/outpatient coding position to translate a patient’s medical record into nationally standardized numeric codes using I billing patient & third-party payers such as insurance companies and Medicare and also be able to code inpatient hospital records. Medical Transcription . . . Online
Prepares the student to become a transcriptionist who is at a computer and transcribes medical reports for a physician/medical personnel with the aid of a foot pedal and headphones. See flyer
