Pharmacy Technicians are used in a wide variety of practice settings, including chain or independent pharmacies, hospitals, home health care, long-term care, nuclear pharmacy and managed health care facilities. Currently the role of the Pharmacy Technician is expanding as the profession embraces pharmaceutical care as its primary function. Pharmaceutical care is a practice philosophy that strives for positive medication therapy outcomes. The patient’s health is actively monitored to make sure that the goals of the health care team (patient, pharmacist, and physician) are met. Classroom/Lab (90 Hours)
Sep. 1 - Nov. 10, 2011 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
5:30 pm to 8:30 PM
Classes meet three evenings, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday every week 5:30pm to 8:30pm for 10 weeks. Lecture and lab exercises prepare the student for the practical experience of the externship.
Externship (120 Hours)
Nov. 14 thru Dec. 2, 2011 (Monday - Friday)
Students complete a 3 week, 120 hours, externship. Students attend Monday thru Friday. The externship is divided between a hospital pharmacy and a retail pharmacy.
Review and Preparation for the National Certification Exam (30 Hours)
Students return to the classroom for Preparation for the National Certification Exams. The Review is available to Pharmacy Technician students and on the job trained Pharmacy Technician‘s wishing to prepare for the National Exams.

4. Current TB
5. Drug Screen (Student pays Provider –approx. $35)
6. Criminal Background Check (no criminal offense related to drugs)
