Program
We want to thank Siemens PLM Software for their generous gift of software and hardware to allow IWCC to start this program. This program is the first of its kind for a two year school. The Cass County Center of IWCC will become a state-of-the-art PLM focused technology center supported by an in-kind software grant from Siemens PLM Software, with a commercial value of $65.2 million. We also want to thank our local contributors. These funds will allow IWCC to complete the build out of the facility and insure the program has a successful start.
The curriculum was developed using our Advisory Committee Members. This will insure that graduates have the skills that businesses want in their employees. Many of the courses in the program will focus on Product Lifecycle Management, a complete management system from conception through production and end of life.Siemens PLM software like NX™ and Solid Edge® are connected through Teamcenter® to manage versions, aid collaborative workflow and sharing of information.
Career
The position of Design Technologist works between engineering and production providing a virtual representation of the product. That product could be the technical drawings and plans to build everything from microchips to skyscrapers.
