About the Program
Learn the basics of networking and security, and how to properly and safely diagnose,
document common hardware and software issues.
Program to Include
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining devices, PCs and software for end users.
- COMP TIA A+ Certification.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Computer knowledge or Intro to Computer class.
Non-Credit to Credit
Take your education to a whole new level and earn college credit toward a degree in Computer Science. Successful completion of this program will earn you 3 hours of college credit for PC Support I!
Career & Salary Information
PC Technicians fix broken computers and other related computer devices as well as upgrade and configure them. PC Technician and repair is a fast growing field. Earning your CompTIA A+ Certification means you have the knowledge and the technical skills necessary to be a successful entry-level IT professional in today’s environment. Average pay is $11 - $26/hour; $23,000-$54,000 annually. Entry level positions will allow further training within companies or industries. Additional education with experience would lead to supervision of others in completing the tasks associated with Network Support.
